Grand Or Not So Grand Tours

Purchasing new furniture, granite countertops, or new appliances often takes precedence over traveling and experiencing cultures other than our own. Acquiring material objects that seem concrete and substantial is enticing. Something we can measure with our eyes. What I have realized overtime is that traveling near or far adds layers of patina to our lives. Being exposed to new influences, ancient cultures, and different political ideas refines and elevates our sensibilities making them deeper and richer. Leaving our comfortable nests to explore new destinations can give us a chance to reflect on our lives and appreciate unfamiliar ways. Traveling is transformative. Bon voyage!

Opposites Attract

Murano with antlersModern with traditional. Casual with formal. Rustic with sleek. Putting opposites together can really work by using color and clean lines to bring the look together. A Murano glass bowl nestled with a pair of antlers is a surprising mix. The combination works, because each piece on its own blends with the rest of the interior in color and form. Be brave and explore the world of juxtaposition. You won’t be disappointed.

Use them on a coctail table, dining table, or any kind of table.
